Addictions, homeless people and youth enhancement in Berlin

Professional exchange for youth-social-workers from Jerusalem

in Berlin: 25th of June till the 1st of July 2012

in cooperation with the AWO Central training institution, Berlin

This professional exchange was very successful, because Hedi Boss, who was responsible for conducting the project, took care of every tiny details, referred to every member of the Israeli delegation in person as also to the whole group, prepared a very professional program. Therefore the Israeli participants learned a lot of new aspects for their professional work and took with them back home lot of new ideas, especially concerning reaching-out and field-work. The Israeli participants saw that their German colleagues conduct a very thoughtful and carrying work that puts the youngster in the center of interest and furthering. They would like to transfer the clear juridical frame for youth work in Germany also to Israel. They also would like to adopt the discipline and the demands put before the clients, if they want to get and to stay in treatment.

Besides of that it was great to see that Germany tries to cope with the integration of migrants and to further their situation. One of the Israeli participants was hesitating to take part in the delegation, but is afterwards happy to having taken part, because she met warmth, openness and kindness in Germany she didn't expect, because there was time in the program to conduct personal talks with the German colleagues.
