A German/Israel youth exchange project with

German youngsters from the evangelical congregation Kaulsdorf (near Berlin) and Israeli-Druze youngsters from the village Pekiin

Exchange in Israel: 25.06.2012 till 06.07.2012

13 German youngsters aging 16 till 19 and the same number of Druze-Israeli counterparts took part in this exchange-project.

The exchange had a high level of information about Israel, its society, its politics, its history, its religions.

The time with the Israeli youngsters and in their families in Pekiin was interesting and a very important experience. Good relations and friendships developed during these days. The program in Pekiin was informative and allowed time to get to know each other.

The guided tours in the cities of Acco, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were very good, because the three guides - Esther, Bettina and Michael - knew to adopt themselves to the delegation and transmitted the stories, histories and places in personal approaching, interest awakening ways. The fabulous landscape of the Dead Sea was one of the main highlights. The visit at the Holocaust memorial Yad VaShem in Jerusalem was important and gave a lot to think about.

It was a pleasure to go around in the country with a Minibus with a nice and careful driver. The overnight places were good, especially the youth-guesthouse in Acco with its great food and nice staff.

The logistic organization and the constant care form the Dialog Institute were great. Mr. Frank Jakob and Ms. Sabien Deutschmann were very good, caring heads of the German delegations, approaching every youngsters personally as also the delegation as a whole.
